Dating Dynamics: A Skills Group for Your Twenties

You reread the text four times before you sent it. Then you watched the three dots appear and disappear and decided that meant something.

Somewhere along the way, reading people carefully kept you safe. It made you good at knowing what someone needed before they said it. It also turned dating into a full-time surveillance job, and you are tired.

Led by Whitney Baker, LMFTA. Thirteen years in mental health, Gottman-trained, attachment-based.

This is for you if

You keep ending up in almost-relationships that never quite become the real thing. You have been called too much and also too distant, sometimes by the same person. You draft texts in your notes app. You know your attachment style from a quiz and it has not helped once. You want a real relationship and you are starting to wonder if the problem is you.

It is not that you are too much. It is that nobody ever taught you what to do with all of it.

What we cover

Ten weeks, one skill per week:

Recognizing your pattern while it is happening, not three days later. Naming what you actually want instead of auditioning for what they want. Saying it out loud. Tolerating the pause before someone answers. Telling the difference between a red flag and your own nervous system. Ending things that are not working without a three-month exit ramp. Letting someone in without handing them the whole keyring on day two. Building the version of dating you can actually sustain.

What this is not

This is not group therapy and it is not a support circle where we admire the problem. It is a skills class with four to six people in it. You will practice things. Nobody will make you cry on purpose. Nobody will tell you to just stop caring so much.
